Wer ist Tomsauge

Hallo, ich bin Lucca Böttcher, eine Freelance Creative Direktorin, Illustratorin und Inhaberin des Design Büros "TOMCOOPER Design" in Berlin.

I've been taking pictures since the mid-1960s. Analogue, of course, first with SW films and a “Pocket Ritsch Ratchet Camera” from AGFA. Since the early 80s, almost exclusively on Kodak color slide films and a Pentax Asai semi-automatic camera.

All of the works presented here are digitally photographed and were not commissioned they were created ‘in passing’. My preferences are not in the staged motifs, but in "street photography", always from the resulting moment. So more reportage and documentation than constructed or "embellished" reality.

Photoshop was only used there to dramatize the atmosphere. I intetionally left “rubbish and the postcard idyll disturbing” in the photos. They are a testimony to their period. Hitting the crucial moment is always difficult. Therefore, forgive me that one or the other motif does not appear so successful in your eyes.

When I selected the pictures, I noticed how the quality of the pictures had improved from a technical point of view. I started in 2000 with a small Medion pocket camera. From 2005 I bought a Canon EOS 350D camera with which a decent quality was achieved. At the end of November 2012 the Panasonic GH3 was used and finally in October 2015 I decided on a Sony Alpha7 35mm full frame camera. The differences were obvious. A year later, the Sony Alpha 7 RII was added, which has remained my standard camera to this day. My new iPhone 16 pro has recently brought me a completely new, extremely spontaneous photograph. Out of your pocket, so to speak.

Details on the copyright of my pictures can be found on the imprint page. All images on this website are subject to copyright and may only be used with my permission. For all motifs with recognizable people I have no model release, i.e. no written consent from the person photographed for commercial purposes. They are of a purely private nature and cannot be reused.
